If anyone hasn't noticed but Columbia Pictures probably has a new dvd protection that DVD Shrink cannot break. Movies like Stealth, Christmas with the Kranks, Spanglish, xxx State of the Union and many more. Ive used DVD Fab Platinum to get the job done but not liking it as much. Anyone knows of a different program to use? DVD Decrypter isn't the best one to use either.
It's a background ripper,so no extra step is involved. When you see the little red fox icon in your lower utility tray-it is working. I usually leave it turned off until the need arrises for it,like madagascar.
Now on the newer sony releases:Lords of dogtown/bewitched,I had to activate AnyDVD and use dvdfab decrypter express. I think stealth is a sony release also.
It's an excellent, updated frequently, ripper. There was a special $10 discount through AD a few weeks ago.
If you are like me,DVD Shrink and Nero mainly, then you'll love AnyDVD.It also removes cd encryption and allows me to copy on the fly using Nero on those smaller DVD-5 originals.
I know lots of ppl dont like the fact that you have to pay for AnyDVD, but it really is worth it. Just one less thing to configure/worry about. I leave it on all the time, and never have conflicts or anything like that. You can rip out the sony arrcoss protection without using AnyDVD, but you have to use multiple programs, play around with protected sectors lists, and find a thread listing exact proceedures and programs. Big hassle, unless you like that kind of stuff. AnyDVD is one of those paid for programs, you don't regret paying for.
