I know this has been asked loads of times before but I have a weird problem...

I have been trying to convert ntsc .avi files to burn them on a dvd for my philips dvd recorder..I get the video ts and audio ts folders and everything looks ok but the files inside..vob etc just give me black screen..they are (or seem) about the right size, and the software I used to convert did the whole process frame by frame and converted everything..the only thing I did was to change the output file from ntsc to pal...could that explain this?? got the sound ok..

Which program did you use for the encoding?

I cured it by playing it on ny xbox and recording it with the philips

1) You may have a codec problem. For that, try download and install K-Lite codec Pack (full or mega version) from this site.

2) You may also try use VSO DivXtoDVD (free version) for encoding. It's pretty fast and reliable:

Good luck!
