Okay, a lot of new games have been giving my problems lately. They all are working, but a lot of them are skipping. Some of the new game backups are working perfectly, and all my old backups and original game disks are working perfectly, but I've been having problems with newer game backups stuttering and skipping a lot more recently. The Warriors, Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, Call of Duty 2, The Matrix: Path of Neo, and Jak X: Combat Racing are all skipping and stuttering, but then others like Socom 3, Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, Gun, SSX On Tour, etc. are all working perfectly. Even though my older backups and originals still play well, do you think my ps2 laser is dying? Should I replace it? Is it hard to replace? I don't know what's going on, but it's starting to get really annoying having so many problems with these games. By the way, I use Maxell DVD+R for all backups.... I've always used DVD+R's too so that isn't the problem, and I write at 2.4x, which also has never been a problem.

Also, my memory card seems to be screwing up. A week ago everything on it got deleted and just now when I was playing Jak X (original game disc) it sat on the autosave screen for 20 minutes. It just froze. I had to turn the system off... and I'll probably have to format the memory card again. It seems like everything is dying on my PS2 :( It's really starting to piss me off. Any ideas of what I should do? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.
