ok so i buy a dvd from australia, i get it and it wont play in my dvd player..says area limitations cant play disc, i can play it in my dvd burner on my computer...i think that it is PAL. is there a program i can use to burn it so it plays on my home dvd player..if so please tell me the steps in doing this..
Alright, the "area limitations cant play disc" means that your trying to play a region 4 (australia) disc on a non region 4 player.
You can rip the movie using your prefered method (DVD Shrink, AnyDVD, DVD Decrypter, DVDFab) and then burn it, this will remove all the encryption on the disc as well as the RCE (Regional Coding Enhancement) this means that the burnt disc will play in any region on any dvd player. =)

Maybe your dvd player and/or tv only plays NTSC discs. In that case, you may need to convert the dvd into a popular video format (e.g. AVI, mpeg) with e.g. ImTooDVD Ripper, then encode again with e.g. VSO DivXtoDVD (and change from PAL to ntsc), then burn to dvd with e.g. Nero Recode.
