Double layer backup 4 genji PS2-- Help me!!

Hey guys Im havin trouble playin a backup of genji(Pal version) on my mod chipped ps2(jap ntsc)I used a immation dvd+r DL disc to copy it using dvd decrypter--the game boots up and after langauge selection the screen shows "sony entertainment europe presents" then fades as per usual then nothing happens!!! the screen is blank.. tried turning off and on serveral times to no avail.. what am I doing wrong??? Every other backed up pal/ntsc game seems to work but this is the first double layer disc Ive ever backed up..The discs aint cheap..Any help would be appreiated ..JADE77

Imation is horrible try some better media. Try Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, TDK, Maxell, Sony, or Phillips. You burn DVD-9 games the same as DVD-5 games. Use DVD Decrypter. Burn at 4x on an 8x DVD-R. Try to use DVD-R DL discs, if your burner supports them.

I'm not positive about this particular game, but in general That's how you burn DL discs. They're expensive for sure. What modchip do you have? You need to be sure it supports DL games. Offhand the DMS 4, Matrix Infinity, and Duo2SE support DL games. There are other's that just the ones I came up with off the top of my head.

oh yeah it plays DL games I have a backup of GT4 which is DVD9-it plays fine (from malaysia) im not sure of the name of the chip --it plays games fine- multiregion ps2 games--it doesnt play multizone dvd movies though--(ntsc jap spec ps2) i got it chipped at a small pc/electrical shop the guy showed me that the backed up games play fine so i didnt bother to ask him the name of the chip...
Also my burner is a LG super multi(5160d) it seems to say in the manual that it is all dvd formats compatible but only states DVD+R DL as the double layer format supported at the time of print(early 2005) can it burn dvd-r dl media anyway??? or do i need a new burner for this damn game!!I almost always use TDK dvd-r (great media!!)for ps2 games with no problems .. Well I know some burners don't support DL DVD-R. You don't have to use DVD-R's they just tend to have fewer compatibility issues with the PS2. Mainly just get better DL media. Imation is some the worst media you can get, maybe even worse than Memorex. v.1-4 PS2's have issues with DVD+R's. Check here to see what version PS2 you have:
