Hi ebony1966, I just did it with the help of other members. Use the LATEST version DVD Decryptor, then VobBlanker it, then shrink it -- It worked for me!

Ok here is the thing about DVD Decrypter..there is something wrong with VTS_08_02.VOB..that is why this thing doesnt burn..it will freeze at that number..how I Figured it out is first when I was decoding I selected everything but VTS_08..so after that decoded fine I went back and selected each one one by one til I Figured it out..the bad thing is when I tried to open it in DVD Shrink it gave me an error message..DVD Decrypter only works up to a point..I dont know how people can say they burned this movie successfully because it is downright impossible..what is your method of doing it cause so far absolutely NOTHING is working

hi lyufsong--i have DVD Decrypter (not sure when the latest version was issued) theni used dvdfabdecypter---i have it on my hd---but shrink doesn't work---never really did the VOB---just very confused and almost defeated--u would think that since it's on my hd that i'd be able 2 shrink and burn---but shrink gets 65-70% finished and slows up incredibly and then stops

Ebony..you actually got this movie on your hard drive..how..when I Get to VTS_08_02 it freezes up and just stops working but the other ones do load..I have no clue how to use that VOB thing..someone should post a step by step way on how to use it cause when I open it its like Im reading Russian..I understand your frustration..it isnt worth it all this hassle for one movie..either its gonna work or just screw it..I can live without Madagascar, I already saw the movie in the theatre

Oh Ok I will do that tomorrow..I was pressing in CloneDVD 2 the 2nd option..perhaps that is why it wasnt working properly..but are you sure it wont freeze up when the VTS_08_02.VOB comes up cause that seems to be the major problem here as to why it wont even go on the hard drive..THanks

If you have the latest version of AnyDVD (I recommend that you buy this one as it is updated promptly with each new encryption technique) running in the background, you can use decrypter or shrink and do these easily.
Cheers.

it's when i use shrink, that i get the message vob_08_1 or whatever contains invalid files.
now i dl'd AnyDVD , and don't know where to go from here. i have it in my hard drive but no longer have the original dvd, anything i can do? or need to get it again?

i used DVD Decrypter to burn it mode > ISO >write, then i used DVD Shrink and went to file > open disc image and open the .iso file MADAGASCAR, then i burned it to disc using DVD Decrypter again.
WORKED PERFECT (When i used shrink i burned the movie from the dream works screen and through the credits. I also burned the Penguins movie and special features onto another disc to have so the movie was 100%.

@diver_bob
I am not sure how it will work with the files already ripped to HD before running AnyDVD.
Normally you would run AnyDVD, then put the DVD into the drive, allow AnyDVD to do its thing and then rip to hd. You would then not have the bad files on the HD.
I have no experience with trying to read it from the hd. If you right click AnyDVD and go to the drive tab, can you navigate to the file on your hard drive?
I do not know. Can you get the disc back?
@everyone
Anybody tried this before?

ok i'm pretty sure i did that. but then what happened was that it got to the point it would burn, then it wasn't shrunk, so it stopped.
yes i can get the disc back
so, i tried doing stealth, since that is another problem disc. i tried to rip it w/ decrypter and AnyDVD running , and it wouldn't.
i now have ...AnyDVD, dvddecryper,dvdshrink, and clonedvd2
sorry for the dumba$$ q's but i was fine til it got to this point.
w/ the programs i have , how do i do it ? thanks all

I was having problems with shrink and dvddecrypter using AnyDVD in the background, and as aabbccdd recommends; the best way is to use clonedvd2 to rip it either to your hd, make an iso or burn it.

i anticipated having trouble with Madagascar from reading all of the threads so when i tried burning it the first time, i used DVD Fab Decrypter and it ripped fine. when i tried to shrink it, i got the dreaded error. so, i went back to my trusty DVD Decrypter and that ripped fine and lo and behold, shrink worked with my decrypted ISO. same thing happened with War of the Worlds - used decrypter and shrink and had no problems.

you have the old version of dvdfab decrypter. The new version rips this movie just fine and is free. you don't need anything else.
peopel kee sayingf DVD Decrypter is not updated and therefore you have to spend money on pay programs like any dvd. you do NOT. dvdfab decrypter works fine.

And a much simplier way to bypass Sony's ACross protection and rip Madagascar.
Rip using the ISO Read mode in DVD Decrypter
Open DVD Shrink - Go to File - Open Disk Image
Analyse - Re-Author - then burn with Nero or similar - easy.

i did Madagascar effortlessly last night with DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.6.0 (free) then Shrunk with DVD Shrink as normal. what i did do was use my dvd-rom/cd-write combo drive (like io do for most of my ripping); didn't try to rip it on any of my dvd burners as i'd done the movie already but it's always nice to have a couple of optical drives..as if a movie won't play ball on one drive you always have a choice of drives to use..

DVDclone2 using AnyDVD in the background works perfect. Just use copy title in the dvdclone2 menu and follow the directions. Peice of cake.

After many failed attempts using DVD Decrypter & DVD Shrink I downloaded and installed the trial of ANY DVD. I then used DVD Shrink, selected Re-Author, then selected the main movie, then selected No Compression, Clicked Backup, Inserted a blank when instructed and Bingo a perfect working, un-compressed copy.
I usually only bother to backup the main movie as I do not often check the extras and because as a perfectionist I prefer not to compress where poss.
