I did what bakerloo said. It's true that the movie runs on a PC. But not in a stand alone DVD player, at least not with my player (Sony RDR-GX7)

It may be that your standalone player does not like the media type that you are using. It does make a difference. What type of media are you using?

You may want to consider going to DVD+R media and booktype to DVD-ROM. You will need to make sure your burner will handle that type media. Here is a thread that explains just what booktyping is:

http://www.k-probe.com/bitsetting-booktype-faq.php

When you booktype or bitset you change the format of a DVD+R to DVD-ROM which is the universal format of DVD movies and trick the player into thinking that the copy is a commercial DVD. So it plays.

With other copies I used DVD+R and DVD+RW, and all worked fine, but with Madagascar it's a different story......

Hey Everyone,
It seems everyone is having a ball trying to copy Madagascar with all these programs that you need to be a rocket scientist to work out, I have backed up this movie with no problems at all with two of the easiest copy programs on the net. Clone DVD2 version 2.8.5.1 and AnyDVD version 5.6.1.1.

Give it a go before you discredit this. Will also copy STEALTH with this combo.
Cheers

With the latest versions of CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD I did manage to make a copy of Madagascar, but obviously it works only on specific stand alone DVD-players. You have to be lucky to have the right player. As I have 3 (!) I can choose : 2 negative and 1 ok. And don't think i't's brand-related : one Sony player is ok, the other Sony player can't use the Madagascar copy.
Are there more people who know this phenomenon ?
With all my other copies I have no problems with any stand alone DVD-player.
