how do you use AnyDVD? Do I put in Skeleton Key and let AnyDVD do something b4 I try and decrypt it? I am also having a problem with Madagascar, I used the new version of dvdfab and then DVD Shrink. Shrink gets to 70 % then it says something about being out of memory but I am not out.

You don't even need AnyDVD to crack "Skeleton Key" -- all you need is DVD Decrypter to rip in "File Mode" into your hard drive. I ripped Skeleton Keylast week using DVD Decrypter via File Mode flawlessly; encoded it with Nero Recode 2 with "Advanced Analysis" and burned it with Nero Burning Rom. It's pretty sweet afterall - there's no "special protections" on Skeleton Key.

I am able to decrypt it to my computer but when I try and shrink it is where I encounter the problem. Is Nero Recode 2 a shrink program? The only shrink program that I have used so far is DVD Shrink.

Well, do you have Nero Recode 2 though? Yes, both Nero Recode 2 and DVD Shrink is from the same programmer/developer/author, but DVD Shrink (free) can no longer be updated. Whereas Nero Recode 2 (retail, but usually comes free with DVD burner) is more advanced with more updates and it's 3 times faster than DVD Shrink.

Go here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/256436 -- I wrote that guide for Newbies on how to backup and encode a dvd movie (DVD9) into a single DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R and DVD+RW using DVD Decrypter, Nero Recode 2 and Nero Burning Rom. You'll find lots of useful links and information there. Just let me know if you're running into issues alright.

Enjoyed it and happy burning..!!

I dont have Nero Recode 2 and I cant shrink Madagascar or Skeleton Key. With Madagascar I can atleast start the shrink process and it gets to around 1.64 on my comp and it says I am out of memory. Now with Skeleton Key I cant even start the shrink process. I have tried different methods stated in these forums and so far I have had no luck at all

So you were able to do "Open Files" on DVD Shrink and encoded it, but then you just don't have enough memory right? So how many Memory of RAM do you have on your system? Try to free up/realease more by going to START, RUN type msconfig, Startup and now "disable" any unnecessary running programs/applications. Another way to free up more memory is "ctrl+alt+del" and on Processes, end/disable any programs/applications that's process/running (programs that you don't really needed) in prior to encoding and burning.

No no no no... that's not what I'm refering to. Ironically, we're on two totally different topics here. You're talking about "space availability aka GB" which that's your hard drive aka c: drive. And I fully comprehend that you does have enough "spaces aka 11GB" - that is enough to hold, and or encode/compress a 7.34GB (DVD9) movie.

I, on the other hand, was asking about how many Memory RAM do you have installed on your computer? The reason I asked you that is because you said; "I don't have Nero Recode 2 and I can't shrink Madagascar or Skeleton Key. With Madagascar I can atleast start the shrink process and it gets to around 1.64 on my comp and it says I am out of memory."

Now, to check how many MB of RAM you've got on your system do this:

- at "Desktop," Right clik on "My Computer"
- click on "Properties"
- now it should display your system with the processor (i.e. 2.67GH or 3.0GH) and "XXXX RAM" underneath.

640MB of RAM should be enough -- just make sure you're not multi-tasking and make sure you don't have too many unnecessary programs/applications running in prior to the actual encoding and burning process.

i did the Skelteon Key with just DVD Shrink on it's lonesome last night..

as to Madagascar, i did that one effortlessly last night with DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.6.0 (free) then Shrunk with DVD Shrink as normal. what i did do was use my dvd-rom/cd-write combo drive (like io do for most of my ripping); didn't try to rip it on any of my dvd burners as i'd done the movie already but it's always nice to have a couple of optical drives..as if a movie won't play ball on one drive you always have a choice of drives to use..

@creaky,
I?m with you guy, no need for all of the extra fixtures when DVDShrink will handle it without any help?.

I just did Skeleton Key with Shrink by itself, did the movie only and cut the un-necessary sound tracks. It came out at about 99.7% so; I then trimmed the credits a little and made it 100%.
Burned it to a Verbatim 16x, +R using Nero and guess what? Perfect Copy?..

I also picked up Mr. & Mrs. Smith that was released today?.. I?ll let you know how that one goes????
