Problem with DVD Decrypter Write Speed

When I select the write speed to be at 4x, how come it still burns the game at around 2x? I have a Sony DRU-800a, so it's capable of burning faster than 2x. I also already updated to the latest firmware KY05.

are you using 4X speed DVD's by any chance?
It usually burns them at half the speed the DVD is
like my 8X DVD's burn at 3.8X or around there.
Mine is a Sony DRU-700A, so in the same series.
It would not be good to burn a 4X speed DVD at 4X
2X or 1X would be better.

It happens. Burning is also limited by system resources. I wouldn't want to burn my games 4x anyways. Makes for a difficult to read DVD for your Playstation. You end up with longer load times that you should. 1x burns may take a long time, but DVD life is much longer and you get more dependable burns.
