I found some component cables on ebay for ps2 (PS2 HDTV Component Cable GOLD PLATED) was wondering if anyone has tryed or if there worth looking into. also how much better is it to use the digital analog sound, all this is new to me i just reacently purchased a hd tv big screen

I can tell you I do notice a difference when I play my ps2 on my big screen (CRT not a projection but I'm sure it'd look good on projection too) with component vs. playing it on my 10 year old tv using RCA cables. Not too sure about the audio as I haven't tried the digital out with ps2. Also, I got the original sony component cable and they work great (I had bought monster cables but, they came with no audio which I didn't notice and I took them back and got the sony ones which work great and are also cheaper)

It depends on what resolutions your TV supports. If it only supports SDTV(480i) the difference won't be big. But if it supports 480p or 1080i, go with component.
