Kung Fu Hustle - problems in copying

I have Region 2 (UK) version of "Kung Fu Hustle". I tried to rip it using DVDShrink - no luck (cyclic redundancy check error). Also tried DVDdecryptor, no dice, it fails at the same point (VTS_2_1.VOB if I remember correctly.
I've checked on a few forums and it would seem that these errors are not due to dirty or scratched discs after all, but in fact are down to Sony's Arcchos copy protection, which basically inserts duff data on the disc that does not trip up players, but DOES cause ripping to fail.
Further reading suggests that a way around this is to import into DVD decryptor a specific "PSL2 file" for the region version of the movie you want to rip.
Is anyone able to post an idiot guide (or a link to one) which would enable a non-technical guy like me to progress with the PSL2 solution. Please specify where such a file can be found, how to get it "into" DVD decryptor and how exactly should Decryptor and Shrink be used with such a PSL2 file to enable the disc to be succesfully ripped. Also do I need any other software and if so, where do I get it and what do I need to do with it.
I admit it - I am foolish, but I am relying on your collective knowledge.
Thanks in anticipation ... :-)

Hey thanks for the quick response!
Oh wait a minute, I've just seen the complexity of the guide .... GULP! I'll have a bash, but it looks like it might take quite a while (and that's just to read the guide!).
No-one said it would be easy I suppose.....

LOL don't dig your feet in too deep, a cyclic redundancy error is more likely a dirty, damaged or bad pressing disk..
I have done Kung Fu Hustle and it has no special protection that I can remember.
If it's not dirty or scratched then it's probably a bad pressing..
Try using AnyDVD in the background along with DVDShrink or DVDFab Decrypter then Shrink and if that won't get it, exchange it!
If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.

Car.Mike: I tried your advice (downloaded latest version of DVDFAB Decrypter)as it looked musch simpler than messing about with creating .PSL files, VOB Blanking etc etc. I assume this is much what DVDFAB Decrypter does behind the scenes?
Anyway, it worked! So thanks very much.
One thing puzzles me - in the middle of the Guide link you kindly
posted, there is a page or two about changing settings within DVDdecrypter. However, DVDdecrypter is not used in the process, just FAB Decrypter and Shrink. So why the bit about changing DVDdecrypter's settings ?!?
As you can see I am still fairly new, but learning all the time.
Thanks again folks, may all your backups be perfect :-)

bobajob61,
You would use DVDDecrypter to burn the .iso file Shrink created and that is why DVDD is used. If you use Nero then you would do it a different way using Shrink. I gave you a way to do it using all freeware so as not to cost you any $$

@paradyme, Well, I guess easy is, as easy does, Huh? I have not had a hard burn in so long that I may be losing my ability to empathize with someone that is having problems..
For some time now all my hardware has been in top shape and I have been using the software combo that has worked on everything I have thrown at it..
That is: AnyDVD/ DVDShrink/ Nero
I place a movie in one drive, a blank Verbatium MCC004 in the other, set shrink to re-author, Movie Only and Burn with Nero. Push the Go button, walk away and return about 20 minutes later to find a perfect copy setting in the tray of my burner.
No fuss, No muss, No coasters, No problems???

Interesting? I have Kung Fu Hustle "Movie Only" too and I had to create an ISO file then burn it through Nero Recode2 with DVD43 in the backround. "Not Easy" for me. But maybe AnyDVD made the difference for you. But for me having to create an ISO file and record "Movie Only" Is not my choice or what I expect personally. I call easy using either Nero or SHRINK to open compress the DVD content (DVD43 in backround) and then Nero to slow burn me perfect copy as usual to a SONY 8x DVD-R with menu's. That's easy and fast. Hey, it seems we got the same result:)

I have always said "If it ain't broke, don't fix it.." and "If it works for you, Do it..." I don't like tooting someone elses horn if I'm not getting anything out of it, but... AnyDVD is the best thing I have seen since sliced bread or a pocket on a shirt.. LOL
And I didn't get dime for that plug....
