Swap Magic to make PS2 Region Free?

Can you use Swap Magic to make your PS2 Region Free? I thought I reaed somewhere that you could.

Apart from buying the DVD region free discs, is there any other way to make the PS2 play any type of DVD's?

Man this really pisses me off that Sony make their DVD players region locked, its got to be breaking some sort of fair trade law!!!

not sure if it can as i have never used it for movies.
I know it will play both PAL & NTSC games.
good chips have a region free player (DMS4)
Although i have one movie now that even with a chip i can not get it to play, just says "TV system does not match".
my xbox will play it fine but it has a built in region free
program called DVD RegionX.

When I put in the movie using Swap Magic like I would for a game, Swap Magic just says to me " Not a valid PS2 disc". That may seem pretty final, but Im sure I read somewhere about being able to do it.

If I copy the DVD to a DVD-R could I play it then? I might just go ahead and buy the DVD region free disc off Amazon, although I feel thats a complete con that I should even have to buy something to play DVD's on my PS2 in the first place.

Any news on whether the PS3 DVD player is region locked?

I heard simething simular about Swap Magic making the PS2 reion free.

I have Swap Magic 3.3, works a treat!
But i havent got any non-region 2 DVD's that I could try it out on.

You can still watch all region DVD's on your PS2, you just have to Pop 'em into your PC, and make a Copy of it. (i think its that easy - dont quote me on that!)

Then, you have your DVD region free, and playable on your PS2, and you havent lost any feature's or quality!

Swap magic does not play dvd movies.

Thats your answer. Just burn the movie and make it region free.
