Creating new menu items is not an easy task. It sounds like you just have an old/messed up version of EvoX. There are lots of other dashes out there to try; I'd recommend Avalaunch, XBMC, or UnleashX.

So if I install a newer version off of aid autoinstaller that should over write the old file yeah?

If you didn't use it before then give it a try. AID is not completely up to date however.
In case you didn't know, you don't need an installer, just ftp a new copy of which ever dash you wish to use. Google it.
But yes, once you have a new dash, you can simply replace the older version. But I would reccomend testing it first so you're not stuck with no dashboard. Just put it in a seperate folder on C or E and run it from there, if it works then replace your old one.
BE SURE TO BACK UP YOUR FILES BEFORE YOU REPLACE ANYTHING! ESPECIALLY YOUR EEPROM!!!

I have managed to update my evox dash but was now wondering is there a way to add "Play Music" & Play Videos" and then have the relevant stuff auto added so it opens up in the appropriate program?
I have tried
}
Section "Play Music"
{
Line "-Music On Hard Drive-"
AutoAddItem "E:\music\"
SortAll
}
Section "Play Videos"
{
Line "-Videos On Hard Drive-"
AutoAddItem "E:\videos\"
SortAll
}
Do i need some default.xbe to open up xbmc or something like that? And if so where do I add that in to the code?

XBMC is a great dash. It plays virtually any video and audio format and is very easy to use. You're going to have to google it. If you're familiar with torrents, there's a good version out there titled XBMC Pimped Edition. You can download the entire dash, you won't have to add anything into the code.

Yeah, you can use any dash as your startup. Just be sure to name the xbe file correctly.

Sounds like, you need to make sure you,ve got a file named evoxdash.xbe in your C:/ drive.
This is the file evox looks for to display the item,s. i.e boxplorer-xbmc et,c et,c.
You need evox.ini and evoxdash.xbe in C:
Hope this helps, there are tutorials on the forums.
