so in order to ply a back up with the action replay u need swap magic or cog swap or any other boot cd,and u need a flip top or a slide card,is that right?

If you have an AR Max Evo (the one with the usb storage), you can use a Memcard exploit (cogswap) to play backups (you'd indeed need a slidecard or fliptop, but just making a slidecard yourself should be sufficient), and if you have an older AR like the 2v2 or earlier, you can swap discs with a different trick (i don't remember exactly how that went though, it's been a while since i used that, since i almost immediately got bot my ps2's moddded) so i'd say use google to find that method, wait for another member who does remember how it's done. *or give me a few days to look for my old ps2 papers with the instructions*

Buying swapmagic would mean you don't need the Ar max at all, since it's a boot cd/dvd set that just works on it's own, you'd just need the slidecard or fliptop to use it.

hey daniel is there any video tutorial that shows u how to use the slide card and flip top properly becuase these faqs in writing im not understanding how u use the slide card and flip top.

I wouldn't know, cause, again, i just went for safe and got 2 modchips installed in my ps2's... I do know that using a slidecard is fairly simple :
One simply removes the thin black cover from the front of the PS2's DVD tray. This allows you to see into the unit when the drive is closed. If you look underneath the drive tray, you will notice a small while pin near the Middle. Using the slide card, you push this pin to the right, unlocking the DVD drive tray. You then pull the tray out, change discs, push it back in, and slide the pin back to the left, re locking the drive. The thing to remember is that the disc which is currently in the drive MUST HAVE STOPPED SPINNING before you can attempt to swap it. Nope... and hey, how many more different threads are you goin to open on the same damn topic? you've made 5 or 6 threads, all on ps2's and how to play backups... you could just have asked all your questions in your initial first thread, instead of cluttering the forum with all those loose threads.
