I had an old PS2 started playing back up games with swap magic, i broke 2 lasers. Ive got a slimline ps2 now and since it has DVD rw reading capabilities, is it safer playing back up games on it? what is the safest way to play backups without breaking any more lasers.

I wouldn't trust ebay for blanks.

As for RW discs, the slimline can probably play them, but RW discs are VERY bad for your laser.

I highly suggest this thread for finding the best DVD media. btw, my recommendation is Taiyo Yuden only because it's hard to buy fake media; the cakebox is a dead giveaway most of the time.
