Hello All,
Just wondering if anyone has had success in ripping "Catch me if you can"? I've been trying multiple combinations of DVD Region + CSS Free with DVD Decrypter with no luck. Then AnyDVD with DVD Decrypter and no success there either. Then a basic DVD Shrink backup, and no luck either.
Has anyone successfully ripped this movie, and if so what did you use?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's been awhile since I did this one but I don't remember anything special. Are you receving an error? What's happening? Try cleaning off the disc - I'm thinking maybe it's either scratched/dirty or a bad press.

I had no trouble with it. You shouldnt either if all your programs are updated. So make sure its clean and scratch free.

Hey binkie7 & larrylje,
Thanks for your repsonse. Whilst using DVD Decrypter, I was recieving read errors in the Decrypter pop up box. At first I thought it could be CSS encryption, but then it kept repeating.
It's an original copy Region 4, and clean as a bell. Maybe as binkie7 says... I could have a bad pressing. Damn shame.
Has anyone else encountered bad pressings? From either "Catch me if you can" or any other movies from Region 4 or other?

I'm not in region 4 but from these boards there seems to be alot of bad presses. Your problem def. sounds like it. Rippers are more sensitive than players so while it may play fine there is probably a problem somewhere on the disc like a bubble that can't be seen causing the ripping problem.
Here's a method I use on those hard ones using decrypter- it may help:

Hey binkie7,
Thanks for the info. I must say; I really did like the fine-tuning settings in the guide you recommended for DVD Decrypter. I had always wondered about the "Agressive" tab, and the "Brute force -> I/O Key exchange" settings. There are some really good tips for those hard-to-rip movies. I was getting the repeating 'Retry' box whilst ripping in File mode.
Thanks again for the guide and info binkie7. I'll definitely recommend it to another, who has problems with those stubborn movies.
Much appreciated. Thanks.

Hey Junglecat
Not a problem! On the left hand of the guide is other guides and some faq's. Thanks definitely goes to ScubaPete for all his work doing these guides. Lots of good info in there!
