Ive been trying to back up some of my DVD's but some of them have a red dye on them, which wont allow me to back it up. Is there any software out there that will allow me to do this.

That's new to me! Normally if you can play a DVD in your player or your computer you can copy them. Are you getting any error messages?

you sure you don't mean both sides are like a mucky gold colour, ie some columbia tristar discs are this colour, both top and bottom, dunno why, they just look different to me, i don't think there's anything about anything in the colour i mean

This is all just rumors that I heard while working at a video store, not sure if it's true or not....

Someone was saying that there's making a new disc that had a red bottom and it was a "Time Delay" type of thing, after a certain date the disc would not be readable.

They were gonna put screeners and such on these discs to ensure that there was only a certain amount of time to view the movie.

Again not sure if this is true or not, just what I heard.

As for Bad Santa, mine is just a normal silver bottom color, it's a region 1 disc.

Is yours a different region?

That is pretty possible - these were rental disks. The disk however work fine on my DVD player both stand alone and my PC they just refuse to be copied

Could you post a pic? The only time I've ever seen a red disk is a store bought, blank CD.
