Hi,

I Been Doing Some Reaserch On Playing Burned Copies On PS2 But I am Kind Of Confused Still. So If Some One Can Clear These Questions Up For Me I Would Appreciate it Greatly.

1. If I Buy Swap Magic Discs, Do I Still Need A Mod Chip?

2. What Is The Version Of Swap Magic I Need?
(my ps2 version is V7
If your model# is SCPH-39001 you have a V7 PS2 main board.)

3. Where Is A Good Place/Site To Purchase Swap Magic?

4. If I Intall A Mod Chip Does The Mod Chip Come With Any Software
U May Need?

5. What Do U Guys Recommend, Swap Magic Or Mod Chip?

I Think That Is All For Now.

Thanks

The latest version of swap magic is 3.6. You can either buy the disks seperately or they can be bought together with the case needed to use them. From my experiances with failed mod chip installs unless your really into wanting a chip I would advise going with swap magic. The only thing required to be up and running is to swap out the top of the unit with a flip lid and insert the correct cd to boot the unit and then put your game in. To find these just type in your search for swap magic with case and it should give you some sites where you can order these from. Price tag should be around 40-50 bucks maybe less depending on who you order from.

That is the one you need but personally i'd prefer to go with a flip top case instead of the slide card if you can afford it as using these slide cards can be a little tricky as well as possibly causing damage to your tray eject system if you're not careful.

Thanks.

You Know Here http://www.ultimateconsoleguides.com/swapmagic.htm
(on The Second to last bullet)
Its Says "This item requires the use of a no-solder modchip, a flip top case, or a slide card."

That mean ONE of those 3 right?

Yep. I got my latest one with a flip lid for a new ps2. You would require one that comes with the older style case. Which im sure they sale.
