Hi
Just Interested to know what the Difference between manufactured duel layer dvds and the ones we use to make backups as all standalone
dvd players play manufactured ones and dont dvd+r etc.
Is it the Quailty , burning program or just the way there made ?

If you are talking about the difference between purchased dvd movies and burned backups this it it. A purchased dvd movie is NOT a burned DVD. It is a pressed dvd disc similar to the way audio records were made. They are pressed from a master copy onto very thin metal plates inside the dvd. Dual layer dvds have 2 plates inside single layer have one plate. Almost like foil. Thats why the originals play in every player out there. The backup we make is burned into a dye layer and the blanks come in 2 formats + and -. Some players have problems playing one of the 2 formats and some can play both. Sometimes you can have a compatibility problem with a burned copy. Is this what you needed answered???

Glad to help. Many people think that the purchased dvds are burned just like our copies. Its sometimes hard to understand how they make this stuff. Welcome to the forum.

The audio tracks must be there if they burn back to a blank dvd. It must be something that needs changed in your playback settings in the playback software (like WinDVD or PowerDVD) or whatever you use.
