Ive got a movie I just downloaded and its in an image file format? Is there anyway to convert it to divx or avi or mpeg 4 or anything like that? I tried burning it to a dvd as an image and seeing if it would work in my dvd player but its in two parts, and it shows up as a CD in my dvd burner drive even though I have a dvd in there. Any help would be appreciated.

If it's VCD or SVCD then it should work in a DVD player. Burn it to a CDR. This is simply to do with something like Nero, just click Recorder --> Burn Image and select the .cue file (if it is a cue file. If you have a different image, you can find out more about it under file extensions here --> http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary

So there is no way to possibly convert it then? Id rather really just burn it to a dvd so it will play. Thats basically what Im going for.

Dear jasonttl,
In order to burn to dvd, you may first need to extract the image file to harddisk and determine its contents. You did not mention what kind of image file you've got, but you can always try IsoBuster which works with most image files.
Maybe you could do that first and tell us what's inside the image file?

the file is in bin cue format. VLC Media player is able to play the file though as is Windows Media, Classic, RM, et al. Isobuster can put it in a file where I can convert to DVD or what have you?

Bin and cue are image files. Programs like IsoBuster can extract the actual contents of the image files onto the harddisk so that you have the original files instead of their image (i.e. restoring the original files). And for burning the contents to dvd, it's better to know what the original contents are for deciding what programs and procedures to use.

well lets see it has a folder for CD, EST, MPEG2, SEGMENT and SVCD.
in the MPEG2 is the movie and I guess in the cd is the audio track.

what if i add three image file movies to DivXtoDVD and convert em together? will that do anything. Because i have a movie which is in bin/cue format and is seperated into three parts(which are about 700mb and 44-46 min long)

just finished burning a dvd, or i think, because it just says '5 seconds remaining' and its been like that for a while. but in the log under description it says 'Write finished in 00:13:32 - Finilization start here. Avg Burn rate 4.35' ..does any one know why its stuck at that position
p.s. the dvd burner is not opening either if i press the button or by selecting 'eject' from mycomputer/dvd-ram (e:)
also.... what is a good program to use to burn these vob files for a movie dvd??

hello, me again :P, ok so this is what i did, i did what u guys told the other guy to do, which was extract the iso to determine its contents or what not using ISOBUSTER, which i did and i got a file AVSEQ01 under the MPEG2 folder, i also got four other folders named; ext, extra, segment, and SVCD (i really dont know what they hold in them but theirs a few files contained in some folders which are <100kb big). Then i got the program which was advised to the other person called DivXtoDVD by the user scf_au , and i followed what scf_au said in his post. then i also followed the DivXtoDVD 2 guide which was very helpful and it said that u have the option to either burn the dvd automatically after it was done or u can burn it anytime... suggesting how i was going to be in bed at the time it would have been done, i chose to burn automatically, but burn using that program, DivXtoDVD. After i burned, i wrote something in the previous post which comes in to place now, and though the cd came out after without any warning of the burning being finished or successfully completed, i then put it in my second dvd drive and played the movie in Windows Media Player. After playing the movie, there were many things wrong... it wasnt in sync. and whenever the people moved, they would be distorted and u would notice this kind of thing on tv, using with digital cable, when it tends to freeze a bit and a few squares come up but the audio is still being played, and it goes back to normal within seconds... well thas whats happening with my movie but, it just stays like that.. now im wondering what to do to fix this.. or if their are other softwares to use.... thanks sooo much if anyone is able to help me out
