I burn my games using Verbatim media at 2x and I'm using SwapMagic 3.6 on a SlimLine PS2. The games seem to burn without any problems, I use DVD decrypter. When I try to play the backups, they will boot fine, but play really bad. They will freeze and skip constantly. Sometimes, the game will work perfect for about 20 minutes, then start playing really bad. All of my games have a TOC under 4Gb. Could someone give me some help on this issue?
Have you tried burning them at a higher speed? Some games require different speeds when burnt, some games work fine at x2 when others will only work when burnt at x4, try burning at a higher speed like x4 and if there still the same then it could be the media.
I would agree. I ran into the same problem not too long ago when burning at 2x. I noticed EA games in particular had problems being burnt at 2x rather than 4x. I don't think it matters but even when its close to 4GB i've tried rebuilding just to see if it made any kind of difference and if it did burn it that way just for the hell of it.
