Hello Everyone,
I'm new to this Forum and to DVD backups and excuse me if I'm asking some strange quetions but I have been trying to make a backup copy of a DVD and I'm having a problem.
I can't backup any "Red coloured" DVD's but have no problem with any other coloured DVD's.I've been using DVD decrypter (3.5.4.0) with an NEC 3540 and NEC 3520.Can anyone please help or tell me if I'm doing anything wrong???????

What do you mean Red color? Red dye? Is that from an original disc, or an already backup disc? What's the brand of media? Can you verify and or post the manufacture's id? At times, cheap media and or low quality media is hard to do a re-backup again.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

These are genuine disks, they have a red colour on the bottom of them which i assume is the reason why it wont allow a copy to be made - it just appears on DVD Shrink that the disk is copy protected and a backup cannot be created

The "red coloured" disc is an original disc not a backup.
I used DVD Decrypter and once it got to decrypt the first main movie file it just stopped and read errors came up.The disc was brand new so no damage to disc. I've been looking on this forum at different threads and wondered if I need to update my firmware??? If so what do I do?????

Hi lozmark, I'm sorry to be vague about this, but I was browsing another site earlier today and I saw a post, where someone had solved this problem.
I'll send you a link if you haven't solved the problem. (it may take some time to find) Its a multi forum site.

I remember Nero had burned the disc successfully.

Sorry I can't be more help at this time.

gringle.

edit........I think the full answer is still to come, but here's a part answer.
Quote:
Nero Recode / Red Discs
I have just discovered that the Nero Recode on Nero 7 premium has a Dvd shrink / decryptor and can even decrypt the dreaded RED DISCS that most programs can't handle. It is also the quickest decryptor that I have used !!!
I think he may have ripped it with DVDD and AnyDVD. I'll find the full link in due time.

again good luck.
