Yeah Inuyasha grows on you. There's no enduring the show in English, it must be watched in Japanese with subtitles. I am a huge Sesshomaru fan (obviously from my sig). If he wasn't in the series, well I wouldn't like it nearly as much. It definitely had a bad case of villain of the week syndrome. You didn't mention RahXephon. It is excellent in my opinion. It sounds like you enjoy more action oriented anime. If that's the case stay far away from titles like .hack/sign, Serial Experiment's Lain, or Haibane Renmei. I've never seen Ninja Scroll, but it's blood and gore level have a cult following all its own. Let's see if you like action anime and gore, check out HellSing or Fist of the North Star. Brainless, pointless, gore fests, in my opinion. The latter is quite renown for it's gore.

@gear79 buddy
Hahaha, LOL. I know what you mean man. My wife is bitchin' too, sometimes and especially, Friday, LOL...know what I mean. But hey, at least we're not doing anything bad you know.
On a few occasions, she would complained and said what's the deal with that site you're always on? I told her, well... I have tons of buddies and it's fun to learn a few skills from others and it's even more fun when you're trying to help others. It's like a passion, I told her; I have a passion and love for ripping & burning dvd movies and PS2 games. Then she told me, there's something wrong with your head? I'll just reply; "is it? how come I didn't see it?"
LOL... but anyways, we gotta love the wife too man. Without them we're lonely too, know what I mean.

I'm not into too much of gore stuff, but I do like a good fighting/actions with a decent storyline though. Fist Of The North Star is good, but not the best. I still prefer BLEACH better, in my opinion, BLEACH is one of the best anime to come out from Japan. About RahXephon, I was thinking about it, but never pick it up to watch it.
@gear79
Keep it up buddy, welcome to the "addict club".

Yeah I used to watch Fist of the North Star when I practiced herbal medicine, but I've long since quit that and can't really watch that type stuff anymore. I'll have to check Bleach out. I was thinking of downloading Full Metal Alchemist. I can't stand the Adult Swim edited, English dubbed garbage, but I've heard it's real good uncut. Anyway RahXephon is definitely worth a go. Do you know a good PAL to NTSC DVD guide for DVD files with Nero Recode, Nero Vision, or whatever you're supposed to use? I know you can use VOB Blanker, but I've read it's not always successful. I'd like to know how to use Nero to convert PAL DVD movie files to NTSC. Congrats Gear79. It's definitely cool seeing AD Addict under your name. Cheers!
P.S. Your burner doesn't support PIF scans. If it did, that'd probably be in the 50's or 60's.

My Sony DRU 810A doesn't support PIF scans either. My quality scores are all between 98 and 100, so probably 90-95 with PIF's factored in. There's no way to know for sure except scanning them on a drive that supports PIF scans.

Full Metal Alchemist is good, both of my sons loves that show and also Trigun is alright.
PAL to NTSC? Well, you can try these via Nero Vision to see if it works for you. *Note: I haven't tried it yet, because I have never ran into any PAL format before, so give it a shot and let me know. Otherwise, there is a guide here at AD shows how to convert from PAL to NTSC.
at Nero Vision:
<> click More
<> Video Options
<> General, at Video Mode: click on NTSC
<> at Nero SmartEncoding: Automatic
Try it and let me know how it goes alright. Like I said on my "Easy Method guide" at the PS2 forum, I have more knowledge in query to dvd burning (ripping) then PS2 gaming (extracting, burning and rebuilding).
For AVI, I still prefer Nero Vision better, it has a better transcoding engine than most engines out there. I've used AVI2DVD and VSO DivXtoDVD, vso is alright, not bad afterall, but still perfer Nero.

Yeah NV4 works great. I couldn't even get Avi2DVD or TFM to work. I've heard CCE is real good. I think Nero's encoders are far better than the crappy freeware ones. The quality is very good afterwards. Even AVI files that were below average quality end up at least average DVD quality. I've successfully burned 7 DVD's with NV4. Do you use DVD Shrink for downsizing DVD-9 discs or Nero Recode?

Sorry folks, bear with us for the little off topic here. So I'll apologize to all of you.
@Tokijin
You mean transcoding/encoding or compressing?
Yes, I've used both DVD Shrink and Nero Recode 2 and as much as I love DVD Shrink, but hate to say this; I've come to conclusion that Nero Recode 2 is indeed 2 times faster, it slightly produced better pictures, quality wise (some may argue that they're the same though). Don't get me wrong here, I'm not dissin' DVD Shrink, I used to love DVD Shrink dearly, but time changes and so does people, so I gotta said go for Nero Recode 2 it's for the best.
However, once in a while I'll use DVD Shrink for the love of it (DVD Shrink) because I was first introduced to DVD Shrink, then Nero Recode 2 later on and now I'm hooked.

I'm with you as well when it comes to using Nero Recode2 over DVD Shrink. But no one has to get upset since the person that wrote DVD Shrink also wrote Recode2, that's why they are so similar. When he went to work for Nero is when he stopped updating DVD Shrink. :)
Also for those wondering about how a Quality score is generated using Nero:

That's cool, I didn't know that. I'll have to try Nero Recode 2 then, I love DVD Shrink, but it does take awhile. If Nero Recde 2 does the same thing twice as fast, there's not much point in using DVD Shrink. Since Nero doesn't recode copy protected DVD's, how would you go about using it with RCE procted originals? Would you Decrypt the iso to your HD with DVD Decrypter, extract it, then load the files into Nero Recode 2?

You can do it that way or just have AnyDVD running in the background.
If you want even better video quality I recommend dvd rebuilder with either CCE or hc encoders. If your a speed kind of person though, these are not for you.

I use AnyDVD in the background so Recode2 doesn't see the copy protection and burn movie only, with 5.1 Audio only.
Basically you hit it on the head. DVD Shrink decrypt's and Recode2 doesn't and needs a little help.
DVD Shrink is free and Recode2 isn't.
Recode2 is faster, even with double pass or Advanced analysis enabled.

Hello
According to a lot of people here DVD Shrink is supposed to be more accurate than Recode 2... To be honest I think Recode 2 is more user friendly... But then i tend to use Nero more over anything because of the logs... I can straight away pinpoint anything that i think is out of place...

I have been using Winavi to convert AVI to DVD, just because is the easyest way I could convert with subtitles. I was wondering if you know if it is possible to convert an AVI with Nero and also incorporate the subtitles file? I really liked Nero,faster and also enables to add menus, and Winavi gives me some errors once in a while, but I need subs on some foreign movies.
Thanx.

@cyprusrom
For subtitle questions, you should go to the subtitle forum...
When i want to convert AVI to DVD i just use NVE. But... If i want subtitles, i use The Film Machine encoded by Cinema Craft Encoder. Its quality is stunning, and it works very similar to NVE in terms of menu building etc....
If i want to just add subs to a DVD i use DVD Decrypter, DVD Lab Pro, DVD Shrink, IFO Update and then Nero to burn. Sucessfull all the times so far...
