Old DVD 2 Sided Movies

I have some old DVD movies, like Robin Hood, that are single layer but double sided so I have to turn the DVD over. Anyway to copy both sides to my hard drive and combine them with a compression routine and rip the combined files on a single sided 4.7 GB with a program like DVD Clone?

You can join two movies/episodes together using the free DVD Shrink. Here is a guide

CloneDVd 2 should work fine to use "Write Exisiting Data" mode to do it
