Hello,

I've tried to write a DVD earlier, but it didn't go as planned. I created a menu (in DVDLab-Pro) with two buttons (each for its separate video) and music as background. When I inserted it into my stand-alone DVD-player: the DVD was loading, and the folder-"menu" which is displayed when a DVDLabPro-menu is not created showed up. It then displayed 3 files for me to select from.. (the DVDLabPro-compiled-menu-file, and the two separate videos), when I selected the DVDLabPro-compiled-menu-file, it displayed the menu I had created with the background music I had added. But it wouldn't allow me to select any buttons - didn't react to whatever button I pressed on my remote.. Do I have to render motion when I have music playing in the menu? (in that case, where do I save that file, and how do I add it onto the DVD-what location?) (it all worked perfect when testing it on my PC)

Can anyone please help me do this right? what files do I need to include etc?

What I've done so far is convert 6 episodes of a show into DVD-format. They've been saved in the same folder (dvd_0\video_ts\...)
and they all have similar named files "attached" -

When I compile the DVD - does this file have to be saved anywhere in particular?
When I want to write the DVD - what files do I have to include? Do I include the compiled DVD-menu-file(menu.dal)and where?, do I need to attach the original converted DVD-files as well? Please tell me how the files are meant to be written to the DVD? Do they need to be in specific folders?

I am using a DVD+RW to save myself from wasting a lot of DVD-+R's, as I've never gotten it right so far..

Will be buying DVD-+R's to write on when I've learned this process without mistakes..

Thankfull for any help I can get!

~Cecilie

The only folder that should be included, if your using Nero to burn you just drag and drop it onto the matching red folder in the left hand window of the dvd video burning window, is the Video_TS folder. There shouldn't be any other folders, just the one.

There is also an name.dal file that has been created in the compiling.. does anyone know where this goes? within the video-ts folder or outside?...

Try allowing DVD LabPro to write the disk.

Let us know what happens.

Hello,

I've figured it out now :)

the menu.dal file was a file in DVDPro I named "menu". it was only temporary while I was creating the menu for my DVD. When compiling the DVD in DVDPro, a folder is created with the sound and video-folders. The menu.dal file does not have to be included. Only the video and audio-folders as usual :)

Also it is better to Burn the "Video_TS" Folder to DVD useing a seperate program Like "Nero" ...This is because DVDLab will Burn the DVD at the DVD"s Max Recording speed and Burning at High speed can Make your DVD Un-Playable in your DVD Player....

I find it best to Burn at Half the Max rated speed of the Media so if you are useing 4x media Burn at 2x.....

Cheers

I agree with Minion. However, DVD-RW was being used. The speed of Re-writables are usually slow so errors wouldn't be a coaster.
