I'm new to DVD Shrink and Decrypter and got the basic idea of how it works. I ran into a problem when I tried to perform a Backup function in DVD Shrink. The error says "Failed to read file "E:\", "Data error (cyclic redundancy check)".

Is there a way to bypass this? Please help!

Quidam_08: Welcome to AD. That is a typical crc error.Meaning, there's a bad spot/s on that original you are trying to rip. It can also mean the newer sony Arrcos encryption. It could also be a bad press-bum disc.

Usually cleaning the disc helps.

On the newer sony arrcos encryptions releases, aka madagascar, then you'll need the help of an additional background ripper called AnyDVD by slysoft.

Just post back the name of that dvd you are trying to rip.

You could also try ripping (After a good cleaning of the disc) with DVDFab decrypter. Sometimes this will work. It's free at http://www.filepedia.com under rippers.

Cheers.
