Not sure if I posted this in the right place.

I have a PAL dvd I have been trying to convert to NTSC so I can play it on my livingroom TV with no success (one attempt played, but not watchable).

I'm novice at best (prolly less)........ currently have nero, DVDXCOPY, DVD region kill, and some other various software along with a Liteon SOHW-1633S burner.

Is there a simple way to do this? Any help appreciated..thanks!! Kevin

If you've got a PAL DVD and all your equipment is designed for NTSC the best thing to do is buy a DVD player that will play a PAL DVD and output an NTSC signal. You can pick up a Cyberhome CH-DVD 300 player, which will play PAL DVD's, for less than $40.

You can convert the PAL DVD to NTSC on your PC but in my opinion it's not worth the trouble. Sometimes the results are OK but lot's of time's you'll encounter audio sync problems and poor playback in high motion scenes. Here's a good guide if you want to try to convert your DVD to NTSC.

Last move, You could install software such as dvd43 or DVD Region Killer on your PC to allow your DVD-ROM drive to play a DVD from any region so you could at least watch the DVD on your PC.
