If i create both PAL and NTSC backups on DVD+R media, will they be playable using Swap Magic? I just want to make sure that swap magic will succesfully play both NTSC and PAL format backups. I am also unsure from what i have been reading on the forums if DVD+R work well in ps2.

Shouldn't be a problem.
To test your +r discs, burn a movie on 1 of them (movies don't need a mod to play).

Whether DVD+R's work is really more a matter of what version PS2 you have. Early PS2's v. 1-4 don't read DVD+R's very well. Newer PS2's v.9 and later work fine with DVD+R's. In general it's almost always better to use DVD-R's. Swap Magic will boot both PAL and NTSC video format. It won't be perfect. The game may still be in black and white even if you set the correct video mode when you boot a PAL game on an NTSC PS2 or vice versa. Those games would need patched.

37. Q. I downloaded a PAL game, how do I convert it to NTSC?
A. Use Adrenaline patcher if it's an EA game: http://www.megagames.com/ps2/ps2_utils_files.shtml#ADRenalin%20Patcher Note: I've been told this works for non EA games as well. The screen won't be perfectly centered, unless you have a modchip that forces video mode.
