9mmruger1 brings up a great point. I actually had the same problem a few days ago, and I forgot to clean my laser lens(which I routinely do once every two or three weeks). And I was getting the same pixilation on my dvd playbacks. I cleaned the laser lens with my disc and it was all back to normal. Might be something to try.

Thanks, both of you. I will try it. Forgive a dumb question, but where's a good place to buy a lens cleaner and what is a reasonable price for the cleaner? I ask because I've found stuff can be way overpriced at stores like Best Buy and stuff. For example I bought one of those cassette adapters that you put in the car radio but plug into a CD player so you can listen to CDs on the car without a built in CD player, and it cost me like 5 bucks, but then at the stores like Wal Mart of Best Buy it is priced at 15 bucks or more. One more time, thanks for the help.

I think I paid about 10-14 dollars for mine and it's good for about 100 cleanings. The one that I got was a phillips/magnavox brand lens cleaner, but any should work. There are different kinds, some with solvents that you put on brushes and some without. I prefer the one's that don't use solvents to clean the lens( but that's just my opinion). Hope that helps, and I hope that helps your problem. If not, then it's definately a media issue/and or a burning speed issue. :)
