first of all id like to thank everyone who has posted about backing up ps2 games, you have all helped me out tremendously, many thanx

this is the best way i have found to back up my games

you will need:

iso buster
cd/dvd gen
apache 2
nero

1. put your game in the drive and then launch iso buster
2. make a new folder on your desktop, and name it after the game
3. highlight all the data that is shown in iso buster, right click and extract to the new folder on your desktop, dont close this prog down yet though, just leave it so you can get the right order for the data.
4. then open cd/dvd gen and drag and drop all the data, from your new folder into the box, IN THE RIGHT ORDER !!
5. check for dummy files in the list, you will probably see : DUMMY.DAT or GARBAGE etc
6 if this is the case just make a new text doc, with just a space in it, called THE SAME NAME as the dummy file and delete the dummy.
7. click on volume, its the top left of cd/dvd gen, and enter the SLES number, but leave out the decimal point etc, then in producer type in PLAYSTATION, and in licence area choose europe.
8. click record, then you will be asked to save it, save as F4.IML.
9. you will get 2 errors, just ignore them and hit ok, You may find that you get just one error, if so you need to download wnaspi32.dll.
10. then go to file and export image, and call it F4.LST.
11. then load up apache, go to file and import iml file, load up the F4 ilm file you just made then file again and build ISO
12. then load up nero burning rom and burn your new iso image file at 4x speed and it should work for you, ive had no problems doing it this way

I hope this works for you, good luck.

that is a basic tutorial on how to rebuild an ISO
which is nice and all that but not needed for about 95%
of the games i have ever done.

I like this method, because it shrinks the iso down enough, to be able to fit nicely onto a DVD5, especially path of neo, it worked a treat.
