do i still need a mod chip installed on my computer to burn ps2 games or can i just use certain software and a dvd burner? also, do i need a certain type of dvd disk? i tried to play a burned dvd on my ps2 and it wouldnt work. thanks in advanced.

the only place you need a mod chip is your ps2. use normal dvd burning software and normal blank dvds. The burnt disc wouldn't play in your ps2 because you probably don't have a modchip. There's a lot more about this stuff in detail in the ps2 software boot discussion forum.

as far as i'm aware you do indeed need a modchip installed, burning the game is only part of the solution.

Just need a modchip in the PS2, not the PC
There are several methods for booting back up copies
with your PS2 so do a little digging here and you will find
all th answers you need. There are posts of the best media types,
best burners, best speeds to burn at, best chips, and the
different methods used to boot back ups.

I recomend using DMS4 or Matrix infantry chips,i hear there the best on the market right now.Well i use DMS4 and love it.
