HELP with DVDs PLEASE! I'm really new to this.

I'm new to all this. I heard that Taiyo Yuden is the best. I have a V7 PS2 and I'm planning on getting Swap magic 3.6 with a Slidetool.

Is Dvd- better than Dvd+ ? Do all DVD burners burn Dvd+ and Dvd- ? If not, how do I figuire out if mine does?

Much help would be appreciated!

yeah, those are fine. Dvd- is more compatible, not necessarily better, if your burner supports changing the booktype to dvdrom then dvd+ would work as well, but might as well just get dvd- if you are unsure about that. Not all dvd burners burn dvd+/dvd-, I have 2 dvd burners and both burn + but only one burns -. I'm not an expert so, i guess you could either check out any information on the web about your burner model or if you just happen to have some cheap useless dvd+/-'s lying around, it should give you an error message if that format is not compatible when you are trying to burn on them.

Taiyo YUden is one of the very best you can get.
and as stated above, not all burners do the same kind
of media (+R or -R) so check the instructions for yours.
I like the 8X -R best and have had great luck with them.

Cool, I just found out how to find out what your burner can do. Open DVD Decrypter, pick your DVD/CD drive. Go to Tools>Drive>Capabilities.
It says that I can also read and write DVD-R and DVD-RW! Yes!

But it says no for, reading and writing DVD-R DL, reading and writing DVD-RAM. I think thats for dual layer. Even though I'm like never gonna use it.
