Oh!, how could I forgot to add those who resent their golden years to my list of those who should complain. 'Why?', you ask......just take a peek below.

XBOXDEVIL:

pm me if or would you rather i post this to the general forum.I asked a friend a favor and she in turn gave me some information on a company that has just opened a new business in south australia or should i say extended there businesses.I have a phone number for both businesses.What you do with the info is your concern but she says that they are employing people.Get that resume ready and look the part.If you sell your self who knows you may even rejoin the ranks of nthe employed again.

such a PAL andmerr is............. always looking out for the 'little guy'

@xboxdevil
you could always travel way south where i live, they are building a new toyota truck plant here, no experience needed, just a good attitude and a willingness to work. i'd love to work in a factory that does that, but since i already work in the automotive industry, i do not qualify.

...indeed. in my 18yrs of employment since leaving school, i was out of work for 7mths total due to forced and abrupt redundancy (i worked for a huge bank). Anyway, i decided to change career, took some initiative, added it so a suggestion my ma made (ie offer to work for a firm for free as a trial) and was offered a job real quick, though i spent a couple yrs on half the money i was previously used to.
However within the first month i was given the opportunity to cross-train and it took me about a year of hellish self-training/self-mentoring (and massive amounts of googling, hence why i still live on google) and a sheer determination to learn a new career (my current career). the learning curve was enormous (still is sometimes), but it paid off as i rose thru the ranks again, and am getting paid virtually what i was on before redundancy. A few yrs effort was worth it, definitely.

i don't want to go thru all that again, but if that's what's necessary to get paid/be employable, so be it. in fact i'm looking to totally cross-train again within the next year or less (gulp!)

:)
