I have the exact same problem, no audio stream to choose from, and avi2dvd requires one to go ahead with the job !

GSpot v2.52b01 reports the following specs for the AVI file:

FILE_NAME myfile.avi
FILE_NAME_WITH_PATH F:\mydir\myfile.avi
FILE_SIZE 367,116,288
CONT_BASETYPE AVI(.AVI)
CONT_SUBTYPE OpenDML (AVI v2.0),
CONT_INTERLEAVE_TIME 42
CONT_INTERLEAVE_PRELOAD 408
CONT_INTERLEAVE_ALIGN Aligned
CONT_TOTAL_BITRATE 0
CONT_BYTES_MISSING 0
CONT_AUDIO_STREAM_COUNT 1
VIDEO_CODEC_TYPE xvid
VIDEO_CODEC_NAME XviD
VIDEO_CODEC_STATUS Codec(s) are Installed
VIDEO_DURATION 00:42:05
VIDEO_FRAME_COUNT 60549
VIDEO_QF 0.195
VIDEO_SIZE_X 624
VIDEO_SIZE_Y 352
VIDEO_DISPLAY_SIZE_X
VIDEO_DISPLAY_SIZE_Y
VIDEO_ASPECT_DECIMAL
VIDEO_ASPECT_FRAC
VIDEO_PICS_PER_SEC 23.976
VIDEO_FRAMES_PER_SEC 23.976
VIDEO_FIELDS_PER_SEC
VIDEO_BITRATE 1027
VIDEO_MPEG4 MPEG-4
VIDEO_MPEG4_BVOP B-VOP
VIDEO_MPEG4_NVOP N-VOP
VIDEO_MPEG4_QPEL
VIDEO_MPEG4_GMC
VIDEO_H264
VIDEO_SAR
VIDEO_DAR 1.773
VIDEO_MPEG2
VIDEO_MPEG2_I_L

Any idea what avi2dvd doesn't like about this AVI file ? Any workaround ? (already tried VirtualDubbing audio format back to PCM, which changed nothing in avi2dvd...)

Check the file name. If it has ANY characters in it that are not letters or numbers, delete them. Except for the dot between the file name and the file extension. As in Video DOT AVI. I couldn't find audio streams either until I whacked these oddball charcaters.

You're right, just did what you said and it works !
Damn, shouldn't be too difficult warning users about the presence of unsupported characters in the name of the selected AVI file ! That would really avoid discouraging many people from using it right from the start !
