i let one of my friends borrow one of my back-up dvds and he says his sony dvd player says something like protected and that he can see the picture but there is no sound.. but the same dvd plays on other players. He has played other movies i have lend him before and had no prolbem and they where burned on Dynex DVDs these new ones are on Sony. Why could this be?

How did you burn the disc? With what software?

While the DVD is playing, tell him to hit the "Audio" button or similar on the DVD players remote.
