same "virtual memory too low" problem like madagascar copying. Would like to attempt through VOBlanker if anyone knows which titles are the problem.

Why don't you explain in some detail what programs you are using and in what manner? It'll be easier for someone to reply and aid you.
Are you using AnyDVD 5.6.1.1 in attempting your backup?

Doesn't that error have to do with actual system resources?? I have not encoutered that error, so I would not know for sure.
When do you get the error, when you rip, burn, compress?? Also, where do you get the error. If it is not in VTS_XX_1.VOB, then you may have a bad disc.
As for which PGCs to blank, I could take a look at the IFOs for you and let you know. If you would like to do that follow these directions:
Create a new folder on your Desktop and name it "Sky High IFOs".
Then Explore (NOT rip) your DVD and drag and drop all of the IFOs into this folder.
Now zip the folder.
You can send me the zip file via e-mail. Let me know if you want to do this and I will PM you my e-mail address.

I am also having problems copying Sky High, try using DVD Shrink 3.2 and had error message, then tryed DVD Decrypter also had error, also tryed useing VOBlanker and also couldn't get it to work.

dvd Fab afree program should take care of the problem it has been updated to take care of the latest ripping problems

It has ripguard atructural copy protection and you need to overcome that in backing up. Use the newest version of AnyDVD.

@sillystar, I'm not for sure why your getting the errors...I have the newest version of AnyDVD running in the background and then I used CloneDvd2 and also Recode 2 to make two copies of Shy High...burned them using Nero and ImgBurn (actually made an Iso image using CloneDVD 2) and they are perfect. Try both AnyDVD and CloneDVD 2 from Slysoft for a trial and see how great these two progs work together.

I too am having problems backing up Sky High. I used the latest version of Dvdfab to rip to HD then it opened ok with DVD Shrink, also latest version ,only got about 38% and got an error message that not enough memory. Thanks for the help in advance.

I used the latest version of DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.6.2 and it worked perfectly without any error messages in shrink.

is that dvd fab 2.9.6.2 beta 3 if it is, I just downloaded it and still get the error message when I use shrink. Out of memory. Any Suggestions? Thank you

just burned a pretty good copy using only dvd clone and any dvd after many attempts with all the usual progs shrink decrypter fab so keep it simple and only use slysoft

I am running the latest version of AnyDVD (5.6.1.1), DVD Decrypter, and DVD Shrink.
I inserted the movie (Sky High) with AnyDVD running, opened Decrypter and ripped in file mode to my hard drive. Then attempted to open the hard drive file in Shrink and got a VTS_XX_1.VOB error and shrink would not open the file.
I repeated the process, but ripped in ISO file mode to the hard drive. This time, Shrink opened the file and began it's encoding, but part way through the encoding process I got the "virtual memory too low" error (never seen ths one before).
I repeated the process again using the ISO file, but this time selected re-author and selected the movie only.
This resulted in a successful backup of the Movie only.
For whatever reason, I cannot make a complete disk copy of this movie.
I have burned a couple of hundred movies over the last couple of years using Decrypter and Shrink, but lately it's getting more challenging.

Hi guys. I was having the same problem. I use AnyDVD 5.6.1.1 and DVD Decrypter in ISO read and write. And I could back it up in a dual layer disc. Hope this help.

I figured it out. What I did was just use Shrink and reauthored it. Just took the main movie and burned it. Not going to worry about all the extras.

ATTN: Newbies & those that doesn't have the latest from AnyDVD
Looks like SKY HIGH carried another similar RipGuard protection just like "Madagascar". To solve the problem, you'll need VobBlanker. Below is the method I used and it "works 100%", yeah... that's right.
Easy way is to have VobBlanker "BLANK" out PGC 2 and PGC 3 of VTS_01_*.VOB, then "PROCESS" and you'll have a successfully working full disc within 35 minutes. I guarantee you..!! Again, that is what I did and it works for me -- got the full disc, tested/watched it and it plays flawlessly.
1) rip it with DVD Decrypter via File Mode
2) open up VobBlanker, click on VTS_01_*.VOB and "BLANK" out PGC 2 & PGC 3, click "PROCESS" -- now sit back and relax it will be done shortly.
3) import into Nero Recode 2 and just encode it as usual (or you can import into DVD Shrink and shrink it the usual process)
4) now burn this baby (SKY HIGH) with any of your burning engines. (That's it.... easy as sippin' on some Hennessey).
Enjoyed it and happy burning..!!!

You're welcome. I'm glad you were able to have a successfully backup by following the mini guide.

Answer: I use PgcEdit to run and it will tell me which VTS_XX has the encrypted protected sectors, bad sectors, or which VTS is suspicious of having an encrypted cells or sectors. Now I make a "good note" from it. Once I open VobBlanker, I preview them VTS_XX that PgcEdit warned/gave me, now you'll see what it is when previewing it. If the PGCs that's from the VTS_XX_*.VOB has a running time of less than 1 - 5 minutes, then it is likely to be "junks, bad sectors, or encrypted protections".
Example: for SKY HIGH, when you click on VTS_01_*.VOB, it will display PGC 1, PGC 2 and PGC 3 right below. Notice the running time of PGC 1 is 1:39:26 (1 hour, 39 minutes and 26 seconds) <--this is the main movie (you can preview it too), but PGC 2 and PGC 3 has a running time that is not even 1 minute. So, come to think of it, it is safe to "BLANK" them out, because it looks suspicious -- possibly the bad sectors, encrypted protections or junks that PgcEdit warned you/me earlier. In addition, when you preview PGC 2 and PGC 3 - it shows nothing, but a black/blank screen and when you slide the bar to the right, it will show the whole movie just like PGC 1 again. Now come to think about it, that can't be right because how can a PGC running time of less than 1 minute be the movie.

I am not Alkohol, but I will sort of answer for you. VobBlanker is a software that replaces video on a DVD with blank cells. Also, the playback is skipped by moving post commands into pre commands. This is good if you want to remove things like previews and such.
In the case of Alkohol's guide, it will replace the corrupted PGCs with a blank Cell, so it will actually have some data on the disc, but it will never be played.

Edit: To get both your movies to compress, rip them first with DVD Decrypter in File mode. Then launch VobBlanker and load the VIDEO_TS.IFO. Then go to the VTS of the main movie *for Madagascar it is VTS_08 and for Sky High I thin kit is VTS_01).
Now when you click on the VTS, you will see that there will be information about the PGCs. For Madagascar, select PGC 2, 3, 4, & 5 and then click on the "Blank" Button. For Sky High, you will do the same, but the PGCs will be 2 & 3.
After you select which cells to blank, pick a destination folder and click the "process" button. The DVD Will be in the new folder that VobBlanker saves to.

All I have to say is that Alkohol is a life saver, I did everything exactly as he put it and Voila.....AARCOOS IS SUCKING MY BALLS. Thank you soo much for the tip, i was losing my mind over here but there's nothing like a google search and some forums from very bright people to help out.....everybody, look at Alkohol's posting, he Does knows what he is talking about.
