Um try google'ing:

MPH Downgrader... Read the 'readme.txt'
Download a valid Update v1.5 EBOOT.PBP File. Again google for it!

Run the MPH Downgrader by starting your PSP? with the above File's on your MemoryStick?, and move to the Photo Section of the XMB to execute it. depending on the Weather, and time of the Day, and the phase of the Moon! You'll either see Three lines of Code or a Screen full of Code!

In either case reset your PSP?, by holding the Powerswitch till your PSP? shuts off. Afterwords you'll be able to run the v1.5 Updater. Once it getss to 99%, you'll have to reset your PSP? again. After you boot it up there will be an Error Screen that the XMB as sufferd a corupption. Press the Circle Button to reboot the PSP? One last time. Then enjoy.

Yes you can use update back to v2.0+ again. If you decide to try and use a Firmware Changer to Boot up a Game or Movie UMD, that needed a Firmware greater then v1.5. You'll have to rerun that and switch back to v1.5, again to be able to update...

okay seems as that question has been answered i will ask my own. pretty much the same subject.

i'm thinking of getting myself a psp for christmas :)

so i'm assuming it will be version 2.5

so here are the questions (i've browsed the net for certain things and have found what i need) ie iso loader, txt viewer, wallpaper changer and so on and so on.

question
1. can i downgrade to version 1.5 or if not will the homebrew stuff (iso loader) work on version 2.5. if not then i don't really see the point

2. i hear all this stuff about "bricking". i can't afford to "brick" my psp. as it costs and arm and a leg to buy in the first place. so, is there some sort of software that scans the home-brew apps for malicious codes/Viruses.

WHY THE HELL SONY DONT HAVE A HARD RESET IS BEYOND ME (well maybe not. fat wallets i suppose)

3. finally once i've done all this. i would like to get on the net i have a comp and the internet. and i'll have to buy a wireless router (all these are obvious) but how do you set the psp up to link to it. i didnt even know you could get on the net untill yesterday. lol

anyway thanks for all the forthcoming help. it is appreciated

Should you be unfortunate enough to pick up a v2.01, v2.50 or v2.60. Then Homebrew and or *.iso loading will be of little intrest to you as at the moment to do all that you'd need either a PSP? v1.0 or a v1.50. just the way you allways had.
