i am using dvd-r verbatim 16x
i am trying to backup my xIII game with dvd decrypter. Ive made a iso with it and then burned it with it on the disc it looked like it came out perfect at a speed of 1x (i also tryed it on 2x speed) but it dint work i tryed it on normal boot video mode ntcs with swap magic 3.6 and a v12 slimline ps2 but the screen will turn black with the disc still spinning and it will stay like that. i try again this time with a normal boot and video mode: pal it will go to a screen saying please insert a playstation 2 disc or a playstation disc. and a normal boot with video mode: normal it will say invalid ps2 disc
Many people have problems with the 16X speed DVD's
Have you tried any others?
Like an 8X DVD-R?
I think 1X & 2X would be way too slow for that high speed DVD
have you tried something like 4X burning speed?
I Burned my dead to rights ps2 game using the same method but ive tried to burn it ion 4x speed, it dint work. after i load up swap magic i load up the backup with a normal boot with video mode: normal,Still i get a black screen with the disc still spinning, nothing else happens. I do it again, this time with a normal boot and video mode: NTSC, same thing happens. Again with normal boot and video mode: pal
it goes to a playstation menu screen, saying:"please insert a plystation or playstation 2 format disc"
How does the people who have a v12 slim ps2 and swapmagic 3.6 get there games to work? How did u burn them?
What other options do i have?
any suggestions?
Thank you?
What kind of discs are you using? I agree with Steimy on the 8x DVD-R's. I've burned 20 or PS2 games on Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD-R's. They run perfectly, nothing even resembling a skip. I burn at 2x because I use an ancient external burner.
2. Q. Does the type of media I use matter?
A. YES: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/3/240341 If you're too lazy to read, use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, Sony, TDK, Maxell, Sony or Phillips DVD-R's. Avoid Memorex, Staples, Imation, etc.
7. Q. What do I need to use Swap Magic?
A. With Slim PS2 v.12-14
Flip top: http://www.chipzone.com/installation/playstation2/fliptop-v12/pag... Magickeys (also referred to as slide tool, slim tool or, magic switch): http://magickeys.net/ or tape and tissue mod: From Pretense: If the fliptop doesn't work, just give up on it and do a tape and tissue mod. Open up your case again and tape the back sensor (toward the upper left and beneath the hinge part of the lid) with duct tape or even regular Scotch tape (I use several layers to be on the safe side), put the case back together, and stuff a small ball of tissue into the hole for the front sensor (lower right just above the power button).
