k i have a V4 ps2...and its laser so far burnt out twice and i had to get a new one twice and the guy who installed it made me pay 50$ each time....also i bought a netowrk adapter and it dont work to go online..so im wondering if u should just buy a new slim ps2 and try to install a modchip on that...but ihave some questions.

1. DO you think its easy for someone to install a chip ?

2. IS there a chip out there where it can work with the slim ps2 ?

3.If my laser burns out with the slim ps2 what should i do ?

4.if i get the slim ps2 and a new chip for it (DMS4 Lite Mod Chip) will i be able to play online games and go online ?

5.Is this a better idea then just always fixing my old ps2 and not going online ?? SO is it worth it ??

PLease someone answer my questions..it will be much apreciated..THNX

If you have burnt out 2 lasers so far and you can afford to get a slimline, i'd say go for it.

1. It's not easy to install a mod chip, but any decent installer should be able to do the job

2. The dms chips do work on slimlines

3. Return it. There is protection again them burning out now, so you should be ok.

4. You can deactivate your chip and play online games. Not sure how it works when playing backed up games

5. Slimlines do look pretty slick. Like i said, if you can afford it, go for it.

How do you know your laser burned out though? You might be getting screwed over by that guy if he doesn't know what he'd doing. There are all sorts of things that you can toy with when it comes to alignment. If you are going to get a chip for a slimline, I would try to look for another installer. Any decent radio, tv, or electronic repair person should be able to do the install for you, provided that you give them the instructions
