It still says "phone restrictions on" with a stop sign.
None of the codes worked. IMEI is correct.
I also tried a code that I got from cingular cust serv: that also doesnt work. Does it mean that I have entered too many codes into the phone and now can unlock only with a cable? What is the prodcedure for that??

Thanks for trying to help me NoLimit04 and samguan...but looks like I'm screwed. It gives me the "Phone Restriction On" error every time I try any of those codes. Strange thing is, it's been giving me this error since the first time I tried it...seems like the 5 tries were exhausted before I got it, even though it's a new phone. Maybe nokia or cingular are doing this on purpose? Sucks...
Anyone know of a professional unlocker I can take this to? And about how much this will set me back? Thanks again NoLimit and samguan for the help.

As I stated with the first code I gave you. If you got the message "phone restrictions on" you would have to take or send to a professional unlocker. The 6101's and 6102's have been made during certain months and they will not unlock with codes. Cingular nor Nokia could have unlocked this phone with a code because it simply won't accept them for unlocking.

You're welcome and sorry this one wouldn't work. I'm not sure if they had a firmware bug during certain months or what Nokia was doing but most of them will unlock. It's just that some of them made during certain months won't unlock for anything. On the 6101, it's the same exact thing so it's not anything to do with the providers, it's Nokia that done it. I have seen many requests go into T-Mobile for 6101's and Nokia couldn't even provide a correct code for them to give to the customer. you can try iunlock.com or someone local to get it unlocked.

How do I get my phone professionally unlocked?? 6102b. I have entered too many codes and it says "phone restrictions on" with a stop sign all the time. I have tried w/ SIM, w/o SIM, codes I got from this forum, codes I got from Cingular cust serv. Nothing works!!!!!!!!!

I'm in the same boat as you...my 6102 is also hard locked. I've been scouring the web, trying to see if there is software available that I can use to unlock my phone, since I already have the data cable. So far, I haven't had any luck. I'd suggest hopping on Craig's List and searching for someone who can do it for you in your area. In my area, I found someone willing to do it for $15, which isn't too bad, I suppose. Good luck.

6102 is one of the easiest to unlock, how can you hardlock it. get it done at a local shop, it's cheap. if you want to unlock it by yourself, try at your own risk.

if you read one of the previous posts by NoLimit, you'll see that he said that some 6102 cannot be unlocked with a code. mine falls into that category, since whenever i try to unlock it with a code, it gives me "Phone Restriction On" error with a stop sign looking icon. if you have any idea how to get around that, i'm all ears. i know it's generally very easy to unlock...i've used codes for other nokias, but this one is not working with me.
unfortunately, looks like i'll have to get a "pro" to do it. i was able to download software, and using a cable, unlock a motorola v180 i have, so i was hoping to do the same ofr the 6102. unfortunately, this is proving to be more difficult than the motorola. if anyone can help me out, please let me know. thanks in advance.

Need an unlock code for Nokia 6102
Cingular IMEI 357100003781512
My mum has taken the phone she bought in the US back to Australia and supposedly had it unlocked before she left the US. No other sim is working in it though - the phone turns on but won't recognise any network. Is it possible that it wasn't completely unlocked?
Any help will be appreciated!

I got mine unlocked locally today. The guy charged 10$. He had to do it with a data cable. Also, he had to restore original phone settings before doing the unlock. (w/o affecting the stored ph numbers, pics etc)
