USBExtreme wrong file format

Only got my HDD yesterday, formated as instructed, put a game on it, found out that was incompatible then windows xp couldn't find the drive. It has now found it so I put the Incredibles game on it. When the PS2 boots the the USBextreme menu it tells me that the file type is nit recognised. Anyone have any ideas? I used the windows version of the converter to put the game on the HDD.
