Happy Holidays to all of you who are here reading this.
I am very new and have been trying to back up all of my dvd's so that my family will not scratch up the originials...I don't have a small delicate family.
Anyhow, I tried to back up both Herbie Fully Loaded and Mr. & Mrs. Smith and when I test them on my DVD player, the only sound that comes out is the directors and who ever else that might be giving commentary. i.e. this sceen we scouted for a while, then we found it in the great neighbrohood of Westchester...or...this is my favorite sceen, see how she moves.
I just don't understand. What am I doing wrong? When I burn with DVD SHRINK I only burn the movie and no menus or extras.
I don't know too much about Shrink other than as described. I really hope you all can help me out.
As jmet stated keep make sure you have the 5.1 sound checked and get rid of the 2 channel that is where DC's are at and by unchecking this you will get rid of them. You can try using the audio button on your DVD Remote for the disk you already burnt and see if you can just select the 5.1 audio some standalones will automatically default to the 2 channel, using the audio function and picking 5.1 may correct this.
Thank you both who have answered my request for help. I have not uncheched anything in DVD Shrink.
I can back up other movies like War of the Worlds and Charlie and the Chocolate factory and they are just fine. How ever, I am only backing up the movie and nothing else. Should I back up everything? I have not
one that yet.
For the AC3, I looked under DVD Shrink Preferences, Stream Selections:
Audio Languages - AC3 or LPCM
Subpicture Language: All Languages
Disable all subpicture exept menus and forced streams - This box is unchecked.
Also - I am currently using DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 - If there is a newer version, could you be so kind to send me the link.
When you bring up your movie just uncheck all the audio under compression except the 5.1 this will get rid of the DC's. You can just back up movie only if you want, but just keep the 5.1 audio. The reason you may not get it other movies is because they may not have any DC's in them
