i copy blade trinity, ray and futurama to my hard drive using dvd fab express but i then go to take the movie off the hardrive to copy to a disc and it copies and just before it gets to the writing stage it come up with failed to write to dvd.:5, what does this mean?as i am wasting many discs trying to copy films.
Are you shrinking it to fit? There are some real good guides about this process in my signature block as well as at this forum. Let us know exactly what your process is and possibly post a burn log so we can try to see what is going on.

A DVD5 is a standard single layer disc that the stores have marked as 4.7gb. DVD-5 is an acronym that means a DVD disc that is one-sided single-layer disc and can contain upto 4.38 gigabytes of data on it.
DVD9 is a dual layer disc. One form of DVD discs that means a single-sided dual-layer DVD disc. DVD-9 can hold approximately 7.95 gigabytes of data, even though marketers like to use the 8.5GB value instead, but this is misleading and is calculated by using so-called "Japanese gigabytes" which means that gigabyte is calculated as 1,000 megabytes, but in real computer terminology, gigabyte is 1,024 megabytes.
To put a DVD movie (most are 5gb's or larger) onto a DVD5 you need to compress the video to fit in that space limitation. This is why most folks use programs like DVDShrink, Nero, CloneDVD2, etc. DVD5 disc's are much less expensive than DVD9 DL discs so that what most want to use.

Also at bbmayo's web link in my signature there is a guide for using Nero with DVDShrink. I think that you should look at it and see if it helps you to understand the process.
What have you burned with so far? Decrypter? Nero? There will be a menu item that takes you to the log file. Copy and paste it in the forum reply window and we can take a look at it. Visit the Nero forum as well. Loads of great information.
