Has anyone tried to backup this movie? I have DvdDecrypter, Shrink, AnyDVD and DVDFAB and I keep getting various errors.

Sounds like your disk is either scratched, smudged or has some imperfection. Try cleaning it or get another original.

One of the errors was related to a corrupted VOB file. Another is an I/O error.
Is any one else having trouble backing up this movie?

After I have ripped it with DVD Decrypter, I then run DVD Shrink I get the following:
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Invalid data in file VTS_01_1.VOB

Uninstall any/all previous versions of DVDFab Decrypter and download it again. Rerip and open in DVD Shrink.
Or download the trial version of AnyDVD and run behind DVD Shrink.

Thanks for all the responses thus far. I just download AnyDVD yesterday and I have it running. The only thing I did was to use DVD Decrypter first with AnyDVD in back ground. then I tried to use DVD Shrink.

I did it with AnyDVD running in the background and using Shrink, it has the new Rip Guard on it

@olaton, This movie has the same encryption as "MADAGASCAR" The infamous "Black Screen". "MADAGASCAR" further complicates things with added menu features which makes for an extra large file (There are other VOB factors too). This combination makes for the trouble we all have read about. I used DVD FAB with "Their Eyes Were Watching God" to get the entire movie. I tried 1st to make a "Movie Only" copy and discovered that this black screen shows up at the beginning of the film once my DVD player initializes play.
Now some DVD players will start through it with no trouble. If you do make a "Movie Only" copy and get the black screen and your player does not play through it, simply fast fwrd the disc and the movie will begin to play (This stuffs real tricky:)). Because of this black screen I was "faked out" and made more than one copy trying to get the disc to burn right when "fast forward" will do the trick as mentioned, I also assumned that when I saw this black screen that this was a bad burn defeated by DVD's encryption.
I would later discover I could back-up the entire movie successfully using DVD FAB, I then burned the file through Nero Recode2 with DVD43 active in the backround. On another note, Your PC's system speed and memory can play a factor in you being able to make a burn sucessfully when these tough encryptions factor in. My SONY VAIO is 3.2 megahertz pentium 4 with Hyper Technology with 1 gig of memory (A beast in my eyes) and has an easier time burning though encrypted titles than my older 1.7 meg PC (with upgrade hard drive and 256 memory).
My suggestion to everyone is that when upgrading an older PC with a new DVD burner that you upgrade your hard drive to at least 120 gigs and have bare minimum of 256 memory or be prepared for all types of burn errors.

i backed it up with good ole decrypter with any dvd in background, ran it through vobblanker,then shrink,then burned it with Nero with no prob. perfect backup

Rip the file to your HDD and then open VobBlanker and choose that file for you input file, pick a folder that you want and designate that as you output file. Hit process and VobBlanker will do its thing, it will find and blank the bad cells.
After that just burn you output file, with burning program of your choice.

Just a quick question...does Vobblanker automatically remove the FBI warning or do you do it yourself? I've found the FBI warning and hit blank, but I was just curious if I was creating an extra step for myself.

Olaton,
Use Super DVD Copy to rip it to a desktop file, then use DVD Shrink to compress it, then burn it with Nero. Super DVD Copy has no settings to worry about, it just rips and will repair the flaws of the dvd movie. It's foolproof!!!! Just try it! It does not matter what protection it has on it (and this software has not been updated to the new copy protection, but it still rips!), it will do the job. Just remember that when it ask you if you want to split the dvd, click "NO", and you're good to go. Please give feed back if you try this foolproof method.

I've only paid for one proggy, AnyDVD and hopefully it will be the last. All of the other freebies still work excellent and AnyDVD as you know is the shiznit, but I'd like to broaden my horizons a bit.
