My older burner does not work anymore. I bought a new one and the slowest it will burn is 6x. Does anyone know how to fix this. Having problems with some games, example battlefront 2

I would highly doubt that it is your burner that is making it burn at 6x as the slowest speed. I would think it is the media you are using (probably 16x), try a different brand (good media like ritek, verbatim or taiyo yuden etc) with a max of 8x and burn at 4x... it's a waste of money to get 16x media for ps2 games anyway as the 8x media is a bit cheaper.
In case I am wrong and you're already using 8x good media, you could try updating your drives firmware to see if that corrects the problem.

hope that helped

Any of the ones I mentioned before or in my sig... also ridisc extreme brand are good too, but try and buy from somewhere where you can see the disc code first though as sometimes can be different dyes from same brand.
Phillips aren't too bad brand... didn't work with them either then?

Are you using a modchip to boot the backups? or swap magic?

With sw battlefront 2 it needs a little bit of work to get it to work with swap magic... this thread works---> http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/257450

good luck
