Well, If you are employed with any DVD seller or distributor like SUNCOAST or work for any large music dvd media retail chain like SAM GOODY, FRYE's. A great deal of their stock comes in early. DVD rental stores allow their employees privey to new release as much as two weeks in advance. Oh, and the Mom and Pop DVD sales and rental stores simply make available new releases 4 to 5 days in advance to get the jump on the the big retail rental stores like BlockBuster, HollyWood Video, West Coast Video etc. Theres your legal leaks that take place all the time. And the industry is worried about the boot legger with a promo copy or internet downloading (Which I don't support)? The retailers have the movie industry by the balls. Most movies last no time at the theaters and the direct to DVD new releases easily out number the amount of movies that debut at the movie theater. Add on that DVD burners are sold separately and included with most new computers, with no strong emphasis on how and when to record your next family event (Hint, Hint,) They gotta know what 95% of DVD burner owners are doing with blank DVD media.
