Try different media or different brand media? You burner doesn't recognize the media you inserted.

Asus K8N nVidia nForce3 Pro 250 GB, Athlon 64 3200+, Hitachi 80 gig SATA 150, Corsair XMS 1 gig PC4000, ATI Radeon Saphire 9600 Pro (256 DDR), Windows XP Pro (64 Bit),Lite-ON SOHD 167T,, Plextor PX-712SA,BenQ 1640.

Which can also be solved by updating the firmware and not causing him to spend money on new disks ;)

If the drive recognizes any other media it isn't a firmware problem m8. Some members here are not advanced pc users. Like I said, try another cd-r or another brand name media. If you still encounter problems then I recommend you update your firmware(if applicable).

O man! I read "try" as "buy". Of course, he should try different media (if he has) first and then update the firmware later.
