I keep getting a "cyclic redundacy check" on Lords of Dogtown. I'm using DVD Shrink and also have tried Nero recoding. With Nero I actually get further on the analysing (79%) as opposed to DVD Shrink. (46%)Any suggestions on solution would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the advice. I have AnyDVD running in the background. Just downloaded CloneDVD. Copying now with CloneDVD. We'll see what the outcome is. I've also located on this site someone else who had the same problem. I will read through those threads.

I have cleaned it several times. How can I do the "movie" only? It doesn't even make it throught the analysis. What should I do? Could that be the problem? I burned (4) other movies today (including Madagascar) with no problems.

You must think I'm a jerk. I tried to click on "edit message", but nothing happened. It might just be a scratched disk as you suggest. Any idea why it won't let me edit the message?

Just wanted to give the latest update on the adventures of copying "Lords of Dogtown". I have tried aabbccdd's suggestion and downloaded the free trial version of DVDCopy 4. It was copying fine until it got to 81% and stopped. The same place it stopped with CloneDVD. Going crazy.

Up to date firmware? This is a brand new burner. What does firmware mean and how do I find out if my burner is up to date? This is the "only" disc I have ever had a problem with. I had this error "once" before with another disk, downloaded AnyDVD and it fixed the problem. Not so with this disk.

First, my apologies, I overlooked your statement that you tried a different disc.
Firmware is the driver that runs your burner. If you have DVDdecrypter it will display your drive model and the firmware version. I think that CloneDVD does it as well. Post the model and we can check, or you can check the version by using the last link in my signature. It's real simple to do. If there is an upgrade, download it to your desktop. Close all programs and double click on the downloaded file. Follow the instructions, it's pretty intuitive.
If you can't find an update your version is probably okay. You can post the model and version though and I will be glad to try to help you.
Cheers.

Finally in despair I tried copying the "Original Theatrical Version " of Lords of Dogtown. The disk I have been trying to copy was the "Unrated" version of the movie. The "Original" version copied just fine. I have no idea why the "Unrated" version didn't comply. Anyone out there having the same problem (crc error) with the "Unrated" version of this movie?

@essay55.
Had no problem copying the Unrated version of LOD. I used AnyDVD/Shrink/Nero.
Sounds like you may have a bad pressing..
CRC errors= bad checksum, will play in standalone but computers are picky...

There are three kinds of men: The ones that learn by reading; The few who learn by observation;
The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves...
