Is there any web site out there that has like some kind of chart that tells u if a game is on a DVD or A CD?


for example:

mortal kombat DA ---------------------- DVD
Marvel vs Capcom 2 -------------------- CD

My friend who is a comp geek, says that it should not matter since the only difference between CD and DVD is size lol, dunno how accurate that is but yeah so like if you can fit a game into CD then put it on CD if not put it on DVD

So Even If A Game Is Originaly On A DVD But Once u Ripp It If It Fits On A CD-R U Can Still Burn It On A CD-R And It Will Work?

theoretically it should lol, Unless of course your ps2 cant read CD-R then you get screwd but if the file is small enough to fit an CD-R it should work.

Well, he is wrong. The ps2 uses a different type laser for cd's and dvd's, so you cant just copy 1 to the other. You have to modify the code in the game that tells the ps2 that its a cd or dvd (but i think there is a program to do it).

It does make a difference, cause a cd game that's put on a dvd won't run unless you patch/rebuild it.

as i said, the code has to be set so the ps2 knows its reading a game on a cd or dvd. If you have ever burnt dvd movies, you notice that it writes a lead in first, it contains information telling the reader thats its a dvd (it does it on cds too, but its so fast, you don't notice it).
