Try another ripping app.

DVDShrink has not been updated in quite some time.

Try Nero Recode with AnyDVD running in the background.

You should be Okay.

Or you could try it with DVD Decrypter.

Let us know what happens!

I am on the verge of giving up. This is the "only" movie that I have not been able to copy. I feel defeated. I downloaded DVDfabdecrypter. I put the disc in, went to work, came back and it was still copying. Obviously something wrong. It did send some files to the folder I set up, but I can't access them to copy. I keep getting this error. Failed to open file:
"c:\documents and settings\administrator\my documents\lords of dogtown\video_ts\vts_01_5.vob"
System can't find file specified. Any advice???

Make sure you have the latest versions of AnyDVD and DVDFab. Others have done this movie with these and had success. I personally have not as I am not interested in this movie.

Cheers.

Start DVD fab Decrypter, and hit the question mark in the upper right corner.

Now you should see this...

@essay55

Congrats on getting it. I know you when through hoops to do it. It's rewarding to finally have a good backup.

I saw that your AnyDVD was a trial. I recommend you purchase it. I think that if you mention you are an AD member you can get a discount on it.

Cheers.

I saw something that if you bundled the products it was ($26)a piece for all (3) softwares. I don't need Clonecd. Is their a "special" price if you bundle AnyDVD and CloneDVD? I have Nero, and dvdshrink, i really don't think I need DVDclone, you think?

If you add VobBlanker into the mix, then no, you do not need CloneDVD2. CloneDVD 2 is newbie friendly though, but I do not like that you cannot custom compress a disc.

Yeah, you can set the target size if you want in CloneDVD2. Olie, the writer of the program says that that has already been calculated for Clone though and you should not need to do it.

I received a copy right protected error when trying to copy "Bewitched". I received this error both on DVDShrink and Nero Recode. Any suggestions to over come this? Also, didn't i read somewhere in this thread that I would get a ($10) rebate if i put "Afterdawn" in the coupon drop down box. That didn't work. Any suggestions as to why?

For newbies,

This movie can be easily ripped with DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.6.2 - just rip the movie into your hard drive, then have either Nero Recode 2 or DVD Shrink to do our usual shrinking process and burn it at your own desire burning engines.

That's it.... it's a piece of cake!!!!!!!!

Are you talking about the target size of the DVD??? That is not what I mean by custom compress a DVD. I meant how in Shrink you can set Extras to compress more than the main movie. CloneDVD does not let me move the slider to set the compression.

I own the program and I would use it for DVDs that require no compression (meaning ones that I remove all the extras and stuff). I still use DVD Shrink, even though I have Recode2 because I find that DVD Shrink gives the best quality in compression and allows me to compress extras, if I keep them, more than the main movie.

Just a few questions about CloneDVD: How does it compress movies in terms of quality?? Will there be a difference in movies that DVD Shrink compresses at 70% and that CloneDVD compresses at 70%. I cannot find any type of "Advanced Analysis" setting in CloneDVD.

I noticed a slight drop in quality when using Nero Recode 2 to compress a movie. Also, I now have a 60" SXRD TV (actually in a couple of days), so there is a chance it will show imperfections more, thus visual quality is more important now than before.

JaguarGod, if the compression isnt to high i say under70% then the quality is pretty good ,yes better than DVD Shrink ,more than that and the quality isnt very good and i would say its still a little better than DVD Shrink but not much ,on the high compressed dvds DVD Rebiulder is probably the way to go if Intervideo DVD Copy 4 would get there shit together i would use it but the program is full of problems like NO re-authoring capabliities not being able to control the burn speed ,audio problems etc. so i wont use it. probably the best soultion is to use DL media which iam going to start doing but going to need a new burner(Plextor) will be my top choice. cheers buddy. its good to have guys in here like you, your advice and help is excellent
